Things i would change if i was to do my project again.

camera
If i was to do my project again I would work on my camera work for instant (holding the camera steady),this would make the film more clear,I could use the tripod to do this.
I didnt have some clear camera shots,maybe if I used like panning angles or shot reverse shot.

I could have had music to make the film more interesting and look like other gangster films.
Fast music to bring more tension to certain scene's.

If i could do it again I would remove some of the objects that were not meant to be on the scene's,for example the signs and I wasnt able to do this because the location wasnt mine.

Looking back at your preliminary task(the continuity editing task),what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

• The secound picture is my priliminary task ,and it shows a three shot of girls talking,but when you look at the picture on top there is a big difference even though they both a three shot.
• The one on top shows the location and the body language aswell,unlike the priliminary task which is done over the sholder.
• So what i have learnt between the two is the different kind of camera angles,and how to show people's different roles in the film.

• By using adobe I was able to change the lightning in the room that they were in,and used to different shots which is close up and two shot,It is easier because you can actualy see both thier facial expressions.



• This is the priliminary task,and this shot is similair to the one above although on this one there is not a proper over sholder shot in the scene.
• Although I managed to change this by in my final film .

• With the first film which is the priliminary task I have learnt alot about different camera angles and shots,and the acting improved aswell.I did this by using more mutured actors and this also helped for the film genre.
• Got to know more about editing and what I could do to make the film better when using adobe and other resources.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

• This is what I used for editing my two minutes film.
• It has alot of applications which you can use to cut shots,add music,and transitions ect.

• Youtube is an easer way to watch different genre films e.g you can get horror,action,drama,and gangster films.
• It also gave me an oppotunity to learn about the different ways which film are made,I did this by watching different trailers.
• I uploaded my film on youtube to get audience feedback,this helped me for my evaluation task aswell because everyone can see the video and comment,therefore I will know what I can improve on.

• Blogger is used to add post about the project that you going to do.
• This helped me with my on going diary.
• It also helps with being organised,and you cand add other films from youtube which are related to you own film that you are going to make.

• Slide share can be used to add presentation so that u can add them on a blog.
• I used this to add idaes about the film that I was going to make.This also gave me an oppotunity to go into more datails,by using a presentation rather than just a word document.

• On google you can reaserch about the different genres and what you film should look like when  u doing a specific genre.
• This web page also allowes you to get more information about your characters,their costumes,and what they should look like.

• With paint I could add screen graps.
• This help me to be able to explain about my camera shots in the film that I did.



How did you attract/address your audience?

Who would be the audience for your media product?





• This kind of person will probably be interested in films that have some action ,violence.So that will be gangster films.
• They will like to hang around malls,and be shoping in expensive shops,probably be buying clothes that will look more gangster like the way his dressed now and on the opening two minutes film that I made there are people who are dressed like him,so that will attract him,because it will be about people like him.
• Well when it comes to listerning to music,people like him it will probabli be rap and fast hard music,that is why i choose to do the same for my 2minutes opening film.So that it will be more interesting when it appears to them and this will also make him more aware what will be going on in the film.

• I chose this name because it sounds believeable and more like a production company.
• This kind of comapany involves dancing,music,films and other performing arts.
• So it linked to my own two minute opening as it deals with different media institutions,so it will help with the music aswell..

• A production company is a type of company which is in the business of performing arts.
• This company aims to develop and physically produce performing arts, film, radio or television programmes however, in our case the production company will be producing our two minute opening
• The company may also be directly  responsible for raising of funding for the production or may accomplish this through an  emissary.
• The production company may be either a small company or large one ,selling its products to a film studio.

• The distributor for my film would be Universal Picture.
• The reason for this distributing company is that it distibuted  films like America gangster,lock,stock and two smoking barrels,this films also link to my own film
• Distributing companies choose a film if it has a unique selling point that would attach fans quickly and the film should have a plot in which a wide audience would be interested in.

• The various people named in the titles are the names of the characters as they appear on the screens,directors,sound company,and the director.
• I didnt use any other titles that were not needed ,so that the film looks relistic.

• Three shot ,I thought it was a good shot because it showed what was going on there.
• Mis-en-sen its in a office,and this is clear because off the desk and the computer.the customs the women is wearing also indicates that she is a working class person.

• Mid-shot-The mid shot off the three people is interesting because you could see their expressions
• The fact that they crowding her also has an effect on the audience ,this could emphasis that she is in trouble.

• I used a long shot for one off the gangsters,and this was to show his body language and that he is up to no good,and the fact that he does not come down the stairs, this shows that he is a suspicious character and makes the audience begin to question his motives.This scene is one of the scenes were he goes and gives the drugs to his boss.

• Close up of aimer,to show his importants and his facial expression.To make him intermidating.The fact that he is standing out the door shows that he is expecting something.

• Two shot of the kidnaped girl and one of the body guards,he is standing were the exit is so that tells the audience that men are in control.
• The use of the small room potrays that she is trapt in there and she cant escape.

• This mid-shot is a contrast of what is happening behind those doors.The fact that he is looking that way connotes that he is making sure of what is ding is right.

• The title of the film is all about how drugs can destroy famlies,andI choose it because it tells the whole story line of the film

Audience feedback

The following is some feedback that i got from the audience,its basicaly what they liked and what they thought could have been done better..

• One of the things they liked was the seriouseness of my actors,they looked like proper gangsters.
• Most of the actors were wearing suits,and they fitted them very well,so the mis-en-sen was good.
• They thought it was a good idea that i used older people ,its made the film look matured.
• At the end off the 2minute film one off the girls screamed and some doors were closed,and we could still hear the sound.
• I got some response from youtube aswell,and they thought the film was great.

• To be carefull when filming make sure that people that are not meant to be there dont appear in the scenes.
• That i should have put music over it so that it actualy looks like a proper film.
• Use the tripot so that the footage is not shakey.

• the location i am going to is is in Hunslow
• the reason for this is because the cast stays there
• Im going to use the church there and the reason for this is to make the film interesting since its a gangster film done at church ,which is unusual.
• This location is mre easy to use because all the props are available
• After church there is not much people around so that is one of the advantages,because i do not have to worry about other people appearing in the scens that are not meant to be there.

• kenneth-He is a 22 year old guy who is from feltham,he is going to be the drug deealer.I chose him because of  the way he looks and his vioce as well.
• Sonia- She is 24 years of age from feltham as well.Her age is the  reason why I chose her.It shows that  even though she is in her twenties she can still be succesfull as a working class even though her brother is doing drugs and her personality suits her as a working class .
• Emmanuel-He is 30  years of age , matured looking and the fact that he is old , he is perfect for the role because he is repectable
• Irene- This lady is 19 years of age I chose her because of the way she looks (looks like those top girls,who would do anything to get what they want) even if  she has to go out with a drug dealer or an old  boyfriend.
• Philip-He is 23 year old  just finished university he is going to act as one of the  body guards.
• Isaac- Izake is a 25 year old guy who is working in a supermarket I chose him because of his body language  as he has  muscles to be a body guard.

We decided to do our preliminary task in the girls tiolet at school.I think we did our best we managed to get all the camera shots that we were asked to add in.like the reflection of shelby in the mirror,and the shots from above of me and geogia talking.The close up of the tiolet lock.Maybe we should have planned the dialogue .

December Research and Planning Mark

You have analysed a couple of 2 minute openings. Your blog is presented clearly and you analyse in detail.

Targets:
Planning - questionnaire/shot lists/storyboard/animatic/audience research/mood board etc are all tasks you need to start thinking about over the next month
Research - When analyisng opening 2 minutes - discuss the order of titles and credits etc - when does the directors name come up - over the action or over black screen etc
Research - You need to analyse more openings of films and especially ones that fit in with your idea - avoid non films and trailers (Spooks/Titanic)

Mark:
You should have 30-40 posts by now - an hour's work per lesson we have - at the moment we are looking at D grade territory so we need to step up the posts - see other blogs in year 12 and 13 and reflect on all the work we have done so far.

when we adited our practice task we added some lights sound .We changed the sound of the piono because it didnt sound right.The lights in the carrodoors we edited that and made it dark.brings more attention to the audience because at the end of the passage the lights became lighter leaves them questioning whats is going on.Other than the piono the is no other sound that we added in.We only used titles at the end ,in those titles we just included the directers ,the characters ect.the costumes that we used are just clothes that we normaly wear at school. it didnot reali explain a certain character.although it did represent teenages.we could have used other different shots like close up,re-verse shot.the most shot that we used was a long shot..because we were in a rush..

when we went out to do our premilary task.the vanue that we chose was a quite place because it was during lessons so not much people came to the bathroom.although we had problems when we did the scene of people walking down the passage.we had to have the door open and the people were complaining because it was cold so we had to hurry up so we can close it. at some scenes we had to hurry up because nicole had maths next so we couldnt re-do her part.we had to stop a few times because people came to use the toilets.we didnt have a problem with the weather because we did ours in doors.

• Romantic fils are based on a simple formula:were a boy meets a girl,the boy loses girl,boy finds girl again.
• In these cliches a clasic romance is that the female lead sometimes never ends up with the man they supose to spend the rest of her life with.
• Romances are constracted around the idea that love is an obsticle course.
• The above is actully the theme of every jane Austen novel.
• All romances are buld upon the idea that prince charming exist,and that he might be temporarily unavailable.for instance the weird guy who keeps popping in from the future in the time traveller's wife
• powerfull cliches associateted withe the genre includes the bride groom suddenly  getting ditched at the alta.
• A romatic film frequently feature the pushy but lovable mother for example befuddled father,the fat,and the gay neighbour.
• Teen romance have their own separate cliches: mostly they have one separate cliches.you normal see teenages from out of town find it hard to fit in so they start hanging around with social misfits,goths etc.
• Dance has become a crucial element in romantic films.dance can save a relationship,a marriage.it often contains the scene where the rich white kid is exposed to vibrant inner-city culture,often through dance.

• Horror movies are divided into several different categories,for example slasher,zombies and vampirez.
• All of the above subgenres rely on worthy.
• Indeed,horror is the one genre in which the absence of cliches woul ruin everything
• If vampires were not likeable in some strange,misunderstood,vamperic way,vampire movies would be nowhere near as popular as they are.
• Small children are often evil in horror movies.if they are not evil they are trouble loners who consort with invisible playmates are evil.
• Teenagers in horror movies are usually spoiled brats who deserve to die.most of the times they arethe products of broken homes.
• Horror movies work best in rural settings because rustics are scary in and of themselves.lots of farm tools on hand and no neighbours to beg for help.
• Horror films do not work wel in places like holland,because horror films require basements,for the crucial scene.
• Linen closets and tidy storage areas are surprisingly common in ASIAN films.In the west linen closets are simply not scary.
• Horror films always have a women washing her face in the sink or taking a shower even though it has been a terrible idea since physco.
• They also contain lots of scenes in which the living dead or the living undead zip past an open door or window.
• In horror movies its not a good idea to sleep,accept rides from strangers,or respond to a personal ad.
• Computers in horror are another place where the dead sometimes lay low.
• Rabbis rarely appear in horror films.
• estates agents can never be trusted in horror films.
• never go into a dark room alone because someone in the film you are developing will come to life and rip your lungs out.
